Babcock University Teaching Hospital (BUTH) proudly marked World Heart Day on September 29, 2023, as part of our ongoing commitment to cardiovascular health. This year’s celebration, themed “Use Heart for Every Heart,” aimed to raise awareness about the importance of heart health and the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

BUTH’s Cardiovascular Center, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and a team of experienced cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons, plays a pivotal role in promoting heart health in Nigeria. The center offers a comprehensive range of services, including:

  • Cardiac consultations and diagnostic tests
  • Non-invasive and invasive cardiac procedures
  • Cardiac rehabilitation programs
  • Patient education and counseling

The celebration also provided an opportunity to showcase BUTH’s expertise in cardiovascular surgery. The hospital has a proud track record of successful open-heart surgeries, giving hope and life to numerous patients with heart conditions.

BUTH’s commitment to cardiovascular health extends beyond World Heart Day. The hospital actively participates in research initiatives aimed at improving the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, BUTH provides community education programs to promote healthy lifestyle choices and reduce the risk factors associated with heart disease.

In line with the theme “Use Heart for Every Heart,” BUTH encourages everyone to take charge of their heart health by:

  • Maintaining a healthy weight
  • Engaging in regular physical activity
  • Eating a healthy diet
  • Quitting smoking
  • Managing stress levels
  • Getting regular check-ups with a doctor

By taking these steps, we can all play a part in reducing the burden of cardiovascular disease and promoting a healthier future for all.
