The Radiology Department at Babcock University Teaching Hospital (BUTH) is a state-of-the-art facility that offers a comprehensive range of imaging tests to support the clinical practices of the hospital. Our highly sophisticated imaging services provide our doctors and patients with the most accurate, timely and informative results.

What We Do

The BUTH Hospital Radiology Department offers a wide range of diagnostic and interventional radiology services, including:

Digital radiography (general radiography): This is a non-invasive imaging procedure that uses X-rays to produce images of the internal structures of the body.
Fluoroscopy-guided special studies in HSG, IVU, and Barium investigations: These studies use X-rays and a contrast dye to visualize different parts of the body, such as the uterus, bladder, and intestines.
4D ultrasonography: This is a type of ultrasound that uses sound waves to produce three-dimensional images of the body’s internal structures.
Colour Doppler: This is a type of ultrasound that uses sound waves to produce images of blood flow through the body’s vessels.
General CT investigation – Whole body CT: This is a type of X-ray scanning that uses multiple X-rays to create detailed images of the body’s internal structures.
CT angiography: This is a type of CT scan that is used to visualize blood vessels.
CT colonography and bronchoscopy: These are types of CT scans that are used to visualize the colon and the lungs, respectively.
CT and ultrasound-guided biopsies: These procedures are used to collect tissue samples from different parts of the body for further examination.
Theatre radiography: This is a type of X-ray imaging that is performed during surgery.
